I put an Orange, a bunch of grapes, some strawberries and spinach blend in high speed blender..

It was so good. I am sure it’s a little high in sugar but it was just what I needed. I am needing tons of energy right now due to my back up with clients and school but it’s all coming together and I am feeling really great. I’m getting my greens and this is not all I ate today. The rest of the day it was full on green smoothies, lots of veggies. :)

Just short on time so I’ll be back for a short update tomorrow.

I haven’t had time to post all my smoothies but I’m still drinking them. I’m at the end of my semester or well the last month – tons of stuff to do so time is limited. Just know that I’ll catch up and keep checking back. :)

The point is to give you some resources that help you eat local, eat more raw foods, eat more whole foods, and get healthy. We really need to realize that we can make a difference if we just try.

Back to pre sick weight!

I am on the mend. I am back down to 201. All the elimination processes are working well, and I am carefully watching my food intake, water intake, and keeping a close eye on everything to make sure I don’t let it go as long. Even though I’m at the same weight I was several weeks ago I feel good.

The thing is my face looks so much thinner that I feel like I lost way more weight than I did. I have a dimple in my chin that hasn’t shown itself for a bit and my mom pointed out to to me that it is showing. I had forgot all about it, and she’s right!

Also, I keep getting random compliments on my skin and eyes. It  is amazing how eating this healthy food will make your skin and eyes appear so much more vibrant without even trying. I really appreciate that but am taken aback by the compliments at times.

I have so far to go, but yet, I am feeling confident and good about myself. I have a lot of catching up to do with my clients and school but I feel like I can do it. I have to learn to let go a bit and just know that I am doing my best but not to stress myself out so much.

I am thinking about finding a beginner yoga class. I’m not sure I am physically fit enough to do it but a friend of mine recently tried it and loved it.

Tomato Soup Smoothie

This is so good that it is all I ate today other than the “Chocolate Elvis”….

Tomato Soup Smoothie

  • 5 Stalks Asparagus
  • 2 Tomatoes, chopped
  • Lemon Juice (1/2 a lemon)
  • 1/2 cup Celery Juice
  • 1/2 cup Carrot Juice
  • Cayenne pepper to taste (or use other hot peppers if you have them)
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 Avocado, diced

Blend all ingredients until smooth adding the avocado last.  Using the high speed blender you can allow the smoothie (soup) to get slightly warm. Remember that heating above 114 deg F is no longer raw. Also do not heat longer than 20 minutes.

Some will say 105 degrees but scientifically I have to say 114 deg F. It makes sense. Maybe someday I’ll share the science :) lol but not tonight.

Then I also had a Chocolate Elvis which everyone in the family had so this makes tons.

Chocolate Elvis

  • Five Bananas Chopped
  • 2 1/2 cups Water
  • 1 TBS Agave
  • 1 cup almonds or cashews (I used almonds) (always soak first)
  • 1 TBS  (or more to taste) Cacao
  • Protein Powder of some sort (super-food)
  • Ice

Blend nuts in water until smooth and milk like, add all other ingredients and blend until ice is crushed. The more ice you put the more ice-cream like it will be. I am not going to give recommendations on super-foods right now since I am so new. I am trying various products and you can see my reviews on the raw food link on the menu above.

Everyone loved this smoothie. So simple but so good.
